Las Vegas Here We Come!

So after months of waiting, we received the news that Corey got accepted to transfer to UNLV for this coming fall semester. We were pretty shocked when we found out. And surprisingly it was a more difficult choice than we thought. The past year in Oklahoma has been great. We have loved living here, and will miss it when we go. BUT, we couldn't pass up this opportunity. Since we don't want to end up in OK long term, we decided to accept the transfer. We are so excited to be Running Rebels again! I'm so proud of Corey and how hard he worked during his 1st year, so now we can go HOME!!!

10 Things I Will Miss About Oklahoma:

1. Great People...Good Old Southern Hospitality. We have made GREAT friends and have LOVED our ward and it is going to be sad to say goodbye!!

2. GREAT BBQ Food...Goodbye Swadley's...We will miss you.

3. Of Course!!! OU FOOTBALL.

4. Wide Open Spaces, grass, brick houses, acre lots. More house for your $$.

5. All the country music stations on the radio.

6. OCU Law School...I know Corey is going to miss his school. He has loved it while he has been here...especially all of the friends he has made.

7. Seeing the new NBA team that is going to start playing this coming season. We'll miss the Thunders, Twisters, Aviators...whatever their name will be when they decide on one.

8. BOOMERANG'S...some of the best food I've ever eaten! And having a Sonic on EVERY corner.

9. Living so close to a beautiful lake...We will miss Lake Hefner!

10. All the Tornadoes...JUST KIDDING...I'm so funny!

10 Reasons Why We Are Excited To Go Back To Vegas:

1. OF COURSE...UNLV Basketball Games. Corey will get in for free again, and I will get in half priced.

2. FAMILY!!! Free Dinners...yes!

3. FRIENDS!!

4. In-n-Out Burger, Cafe Rio, Del Taco, just to name a few.

Happy 23rd Birthday Ciara!!!

So, I feel kind of dumb writing this blog about me, but since my husband is in Vegas for three weeks without me, I really have nothing better to do. He went to Vegas to do an internship for school. It stinks not having him around and plus I have to sleep with most of the lights on in the house every night. It's weird to be by yourself home alone...I'm a wimp. Well, today is my 23rd birthday...man I'm getting old. It's weird to think I am 23! I have had a great day so far. I got fun packages in the mail from those who live so far away! Thank ya'll for the fun gifts. Corey and I celebrated my b-day on Tues. and we just went out to eat in Bricktown (yes downtown is all brick buildings) at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Chelino's. Then we just walked around. It was fun and nice to spend one last night with him before he went to Vegas. Here are some pictures from the day. I included a picture of the birthday cake Corey made me. Also, I love the picture of Corey by the most random statue I have EVER seen! Enjoy!!

Happy 26th Birthday Corey!!

On Thursday Corey turned 26! We had a lot of fun on his birthday. He wanted a guitar amp for his birthday and so he got it. He has been messing around with it nonstop. We also had tickets to go see the Foo Fighters in concert. They were suppose to come to OKC in January, but they rescheduled it for July. Before the concert we ate BBQ food in Bricktown and it was good. Oklahoma always has really good BBQ food. We then went over to the concert. The Foo Fighters were great. We were on the floor and were like 5 feet away from them. I've never really been to a rock concert before, but it was awesome. The Foo Fighters are great live. They played for like 2 1/2 hours straight. We had so much fun. Happy Birthday Corey!!!

Happy 4th and Broken Bones!!

I wanted to blog about our fun 4th of July weekend before I forget. We went with some friends to their parents lake house out at Lake Tenkiller. We had so much fun wake boarding, tubing, eating and watching fireworks. It was such a nice weekend. On Saturday while I was tubing, my thumb got jammed into the handle bar on the tube and it ended up breaking my bone. I didn't think it was broken when it happened, but as the swelling kept coming and the pain was intensifying, I knew something was wrong. Corey made a doctor's appointment for me on Tuesday and sure enough the bone was broken and the ligament sprained. The doctor put a cast on my arm for 2 weeks. Of course it is the most humid time in Oklahoma right now, so having a cast on is not fun. Luckily I didn't need surgery, but my thumb is still killing me! The next two weeks are going to be sooooo long! Thank you Corey for making me go to the doctor or else I wouldn't have gone!!

Back to Real Life!!

I have been off of work for a couple of months now, and while I have enjoyed every second of it...it is time to get back to real life. Starting tomorrow I will be working again. Since I have been back from Girl's Camp, I have been relaxing, sleeping in, and just hanging out. Corey is taking a summer school class (poor guy) but has had a lot more free time lately. We have been trying to think of things to do the last couple of weeks to keep busy. We went to the local water park, walked around Wal Mart a number of times for no reason, went to an Oklahoma Red hawks baseball game, and mastered Fusion Frenzy game on XBox 360. We also got new callings in the ward, which has been kind of fun. I'm the 1st counselor in Young Womens, which I have loved. It keeps me busy and I love hanging out with all the girls. Corey is a Gospel Doctrine teacher (ha ha). No, he has taught one lesson and did awesome! We are loving the weather in OK and glad that we are not in 110 degree heat in Vegas. Here are some pictures from the baseball game last night!

Only in Oklahoma!

I am not very good at being diligent in blogging, but that is mainly because we don't have too much stuff going on. This past week I had the opportunity to go to Girl's Camp with the Young Women in our ward and the other wards in the Oklahoma City Stake. We went to a State Park in eastern OK, about 2 hours outside of OKC. I had so much fun at girl's camp and enjoyed spending time with all the young women. But I was excited to get home to a warm shower and a bed instead of sleeping the bed of my truck. The Thursday night that we were at camp, a huge storm was heading towards us. The storm had four different rotations heading right towards our camp ground, it was pretty scary. All of the girl's were in the main mess hall which was the ONLY safe building to be in during the storm. We all ended up being fine and the rotations went north and south of us, but I was thinking this is the kind of thing that only happens in Oklahoma! Corey called me the night of the storm to tell me that there was a tornado warning right where we were. I am so glad that tornado season is almost over. Really the only bad thing about Oklahoma is the crazy weather!
